Dear Social Work Students,

Interested in getting involved in an exciting new initiative led by various healthcare professional students at the University of Toronto?! If so, then read on!

Over the past 3 years, a group of students from various health professions at the University of Toronto have been eagerly developing the IMAGINE (Interprofessional Medical and Allied Groups for Improving Neighbourhood Environment) Program. This initiative includes four facets:

  1. CLINIC: In partnering with the Queen West Community Health Centre, the Clinic will provide hassle-free health care services to the
    underserved population of Toronto.
  2. WORKSHOPS: In partnering with St. Christopher House: The Meeting Place (a Toronto adult drop-in centre), the Health Promotion committee will provide health promotion workshops to the underserved population within this community.
  3. COMMUNITY OUTREACH: The Community Partnerships Outreach committee regularly partners with local drop-in centres and community agencies to organize outreach programmes, promote relevant charity drives, and improve social supports.
  4. COMMUNITY REFERRALS: The Referrals Committee networks with local health centres and resources to build a referral network for IMAGINE clients.

After much interprofessional team work and dedication, we are excited to announce the opening of the IMAGINE CLINIC (Facet #1) on Oct. 16, 2010!

As an IMAGINE Clinic Volunteer:
- The time commitment will be 3 consecutive Saturdays, for 4-5 hours/Saturday (Actual scheduling will take place after acceptance as a clinic volunteer.)
